Peggy David, LCSW

Peggy David is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been practicing in CENTRA’s Marlton office since 2004. Having moved from a successful private practice, Ms. David’s work at CENTRA focuses primarily on issues confronted by adults, individually and in relationships.
Peggy David earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Ohio State University. She began her work in Southern New Jersey as the social worker for the hemodialysis and Renal transplant unit of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
Subsequently, she joined the professional clinical staff of Jewish Family and Children's Service of Southern New Jersey, where she served as Clinical Director and then Assistant Director, overseeing the entire agency's counseling and support group personnel and services. While maintaining her own counseling caseload and supervising graduate students.
Ms. David served on a National Task Force on issues related to adolescent self-destructive behaviors. She also serves on a National committee on Family Concerns whose mission is creating and developing volunteer programs to meet the needs of individuals and families dealing with a variety of life-stressors. The Courier-Post Newspaper also tapped her for their Ask the Expert column. She has served on the faculty of Camden County College and Rowan University.
Ms. David is trained and experienced in a number of treatment approaches, as well as in the field of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She frequently uses this form of therapy, which research repeatedly finds to be highly successful in the treatment of a wide range areas such as depression, anxiety and phobias and focuses on replacing dysfunctional thinking with thought patterns that will foster positive healing, change and growth.
